In order to keep pace with the current insurance and gen-next trends, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India would soon allow loans to be procured online.
“All one needs is a registered mobile number and an Aadhaar card,” said R. Thamodharan, Southern Zonal Manager, here on Friday.
He was addressing a gathering of policyholders, agents, staff and former employees at a function organised to mark the diamond jubilee celebrations of the LIC. The event primarily focused on the growth of LIC and its contribution to nation development.
“We have aided organisations which have built roads and constructed drains. Through every Five Year Plan [in the past], the LIC has been in each step taken by the nation,” he said.
Collector K. Veera Raghava Rao, who was the chief guest, commended the ability of the LIC to touch every household even in rural areas. He went on to state that LIC was a household name as it had gained the trust of the common man. He insisted that it was imperative for its employees to adapt to needs of the younger generation.
